Advanced Algebra with Financial Applications

This course walks students through the information needed to make the best decisions with money. Advanced Algebra with Financial Applications is an advanced course incorporating real-world applications, collaboration, and calculations using technology. Students learn the formulas used to determine account balances, monthly payments, total costs, and more. They examine budgeting, spending, saving, investment, and retirement. Students explore mortgages and other debt structures and how to make good decisions about borrowing money.  Pre-requisites: Algebra II course recommended.

AP Calculus BC Online

This course applies differential calculus to finding the slope of a curve, solving problems with related rates, calculating motion properties of moving particles, etc. It then applies integral calculus to finding the areas of irregular regions in a plane, volumes of rotation by various methods, and other scientific applications. Finally, the course explores analytic geometry, series, and convergence, as well as polynomial series and approximations. AP Physics 2 Online

The course provides students with an introductory experience in the concepts and methods of physical analysis beyond mechanics, including thermodynamics, fluid physics, geometric and physical optics, electricity, magnetism, and modern physics.  Building the ability to reason qualitatively and quantitatively is a primary focus, with inquiry and investigation, modeling and diagramming, symbolic algebra, unit analysis, communication and argumentation, laboratory techniques, data analysis, and integration and application of concepts as emphasized skills. AP Psychology Online

AP Psychology is a college-level course providing students with an overview of the development of human behaviors and thoughts. Along with preparation for the AP Psychology exam, the goals of this course are to immerse students in modern psychological investigation techniques, to accentuate the ethics and morality of human and animal research, and to emphasize scientific critical thinking skills in application to the social sciences. As the topics covered in the course are quite complex and students are expected to write structured discursive essays, the recommended level of English is upper-intermediate (B2 in European Framework of Reference for Languages). AP Statistics Online

This course is designed to provide college-level instruction on the concepts and tools for working with data. Students collect and analyze data and draw conclusions based on real-world information. The course challenges students to explore patterns, think critically, use a variety of tools and methods, and report their findings and conclusions.

The content of AP Statistics differs significantly from the curriculum content of Czech secondary schools, where descriptive statistics are mostly taught. Almost all universities encounter statistical data processing and analysis in most study programs, including humanities. The AP Statistics course is an excellent preparation not only for students planning to take the AP exam but also for students who intend to study at any university in the Czech Republic or abroad.

Fascinating World of Microbes - The Kingdom of Bacteria

In this online course, students will learn about bacteria, their “lifestyle”, methods for how to get rid of them, why are they important for us and what can they do to us. Students will study the most important groups of bacteria as well as antibiotics. They will acquire knowledge in order to understand the relationship between humans and bacteria.The course will lead them through the basics of clinical and general bacteriology and examples that can be seen in everyday life. Students will learn how to use bacteria for the production of various products and also learn the basics of antibiotics, including the correct usage, general mechanisms of action, and dangers of ever-rising bacterial resistance.
