Rigorous College Prep AP Courses for Czech and Slovak Students
LINCOLN, Nebraska, USA / Prague, Czech Republic, — April 6, 2016 — The University of Nebraska High School (UNHS) welcomes students of the Centrum pro talentovanou mladez (CTM), Czech Republic, to its globally recognized program. UNHS has made available 17 of its online courses, including rigorous Advanced Placement (AP) courses approved by the College Board, to CTM students.
CTM gives students 11 to 18 years of age the opportunity to compete directly with the best in the world. CTM students love the challenge. It boosts their motivation, their confidence and their performance while making them more comfortable using English as the school language. It is also a great way for them to prepare for university studies at home or abroad.
“The credentials of our school, the quality of our courses and our relationship with University of Nebraska campuses sets us apart from other online offerings,” said UNHS Director Barbara Shousha. “We understand that CTM students must receive their education from respected institutions, so they can reach their long term goals. We look forward to being a part of their academic success.”
After reviewing a number of options for the CTM Online Program, UNHS was chosen for its challenging, rigorous courses as well as opportunities such as the ability for students to earn the AP International Diploma through the College Board.
“We believe UNHS is what we need to expand,” said CTM Director Jeanne Bočková. “The addition of these courses is the first step in our partnership, and we believe that UNHS is a perfect fit for our students, helping them realize their college aspirations and equipping them well for their future careers.
