At CTM, we empower pupils and students to accomplish their academic dreams.

CTM (Center for Talented Minds) is for children and students from about 5 years of age to high school graduation who prefer individual and flexible approach in their studies.  CTM helps them gain English proficiency, respects their learning pace and their passion in exploring subjects they enjoy.

CTM  was established in 2010 as an institution tailor-made for pupils and students who prefer an individualised and flexible approach to education. Our program provides a unique academic experience to students from the first grade until their high school graduation. We respect their individual learning pace and eagerness to study their subjects of interest. We also support the use of academic English as a part of their subject-specific studies.

We educate those, who want to know more. We help our students to broaden their understanding, improve their study skills and become more fluent in academic English.

CTM is leading the change in Czech education – step-by-step, story-by-story

CTM provides pupils and students from five years of age until their high school graduation with a way to develop their knowledge in topics that are dear to them, above and beyond their school-based curricula, in the form of one and two-semester academic programs that are tailor-made for their age group, in English. Through CTM Online, students can take the internationally acclaimed Advanced Placement (AP) exams and achieve a financially attainable international education while attending high school. The standardised AP exams, which are held by CTM in the Czech Republic, with the support of the College Board, are widely accepted by universities in the Czech Republic as a part of their admission process. Many even see AP exams as above and beyond their requirements and waive the admission process altogether. Since 2022, high schools can accept AP exams as a part of the school-based part of the Czech maturita (school list), similarly to language certificates.

CTM’s efforts were instrumental in AP exams being accepted as a part of the maturita and university admission processes in the Czech Republic. Since CTM’s founding, over 9 000 students have studied with CTM Online, which gave them a great edge in pursuing their dreams of studying on prestigious universities.

From Discovery Saturdays to  International Education and AP Exams

Our DISCOVERY PROGRAM has been catering to curious pupils of 5 to 16 years of age since its inception in 2013 in Prague. There, children create their own timetables out of our selection of on-site courses. These include topics that students find interesting and that they want to indulge into in a part of a group of other gifted children. We encourage a harmonious process of personality development for our students, which is exemplified by our commitment to providing both subject-specific and personal-growth related courses to choose from.

CTM ONLINE is a comprehensive academic program, being completely taught in nglish, that provides students from 11 years of age until their high school graduation with a flexible, affordable means of accessing international education through our online courses and the internationally acclaimed standardised Advanced Placement (AP) exam system. These can be thought of as an alternative to the IB programme, although our students often positively note the increased flexibility, individualisation options and better quality of the AP system. Upon successful completion of AP exams, our students can look forward to having an easier time while studying at their high school, and highly increased chances of being accepted into their dream university, as a large number of both Czech and foreign universities accept AP exam results for extra credit in the admission process.

We offer SCHOOLS a means of expanding their portfolio of activities for motivated and gifted students by personalising the education process by utilising CTM Online courses and offering students the option to achieve international education while still studying at their high school. Our partner schools can also choose to teach according to our Online courses at school with their own teachers.

AFCSLS

Our gratitude goes to the American Fund for Czech and Slovak Leadership Studies, which has started and has been supporting CTM programs since the beginning in 2010.  AFCSLS makes it possible for CTM to offer affordable international education for Czech and Slovak children.  CTM is especially thankful to Mr. Martin Herman and his wife Eva for their personal support to CTM.

In 2010, Mr. Herman on behalf of AFCSLS approached the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) to launch a talent development program for Czech and Slovak children.  AFCSLS has invested nearly two million dollars in scholarships for CTY summer program and online courses, instructor training, technical and operational support.  CTM has become the extended arm of AFCSLS.
