Coding 1a: Introduction to Programming

Have you ever wanted to create your own web page or wondered how your favorite websites were built? Maybe you want to know more about how computers and technology are affecting the world around us. In Coding 1a: Introduction to Programming, you will explore the role technology plays in our lives as well as study the fundamentals of computer science, review hardware and software, and learn how the internet functions. You will also discover how to create and build your own website using HTML and CSS and learn basic and complex commands and sequences as you become familiar with programming languages like JavaScript and Python Programming. This course also covers data collection methods, access rights, protocols, and security.

Comprehensive Science 1 Online - Science, Energy, Atmosphere, Life

Comprehensive Science 1 is the first in a series of three consecutive science classes. This course provides an introduction to Science, Energy, Force, Weather, Climate, The Earth’s Systems, and the Living World. Students are strongly recommended to study on average about 3 - 4  hours per week.

Geometry Honors Online

Geometry is everywhere, not just in pyramids. Engineers use geometry to build highways and bridges. Artists use geometry to create perspective in their paintings, and mapmakers help travelers find things using the points located on a geometric grid. Throughout this course, students travel a mathematical highway illuminated by spatial relationships, reasoning, connections, and problem solving. This course is designed as an interactive, 21st century course focusing on basic physics and chemistry. Topics include forces and motion, energy through waves, electricity and magnetism, the matter around us, chemical bonding and reactions. Recommended for students from school grade 7 - 10. Physics Honors Online

Honors Physics expands upon the concepts introduced in Physical Science to help students understand the physical world around them. In each “Physics World” module, students discover the contributions of geniuses like Galileo, Newton and Einstein. This course is appropriate for upper level middle school students or as a high school review course, grade 7 - 9.

For Beginners in Coding: Do you find yourself wondering how your favorite apps, websites, and games were made? Maybe you want to try building your own. Well, now you can! In Start with Coding 1a, you will learn all about the technology you use in your day-to-day life as well as explore how the internet functions. Get an introduction to the basics of computer science and discover how to create and build your very own website using HTML and CSS. You’ll also become familiar with programming languages like JavaScript and Python Programming. You will leave the course with your very own portfolio of work that will showcase your skills and all that you’ve created. The course is for beginners, from 6-8th grade. Students are advised to study on average about 2 hours per week.
