Career Path
The roles and responsibilities of CTM instructors and coordinators are as follows:
Trainee – has access to course materials, follows the course session as a future instructor, studies the course as a regular student. We recommend that a trainee takes the prescribed tests and the final exam. The purpose is so that the trainee becomes thoroughly familiar with the course materials from the student’s point of view. This is necessary to understand the course well and in order to be able to guide students through the course. The objective of the trainee is to become an instructor at the next opportunity. Monitored and guided by a course supervisor, the trainee has partial responsibility for leading one or two students.
Instructor – is fully responsible for leading a course, has at least five students (or, if the course has fewer than five students, leads the entire course). An instructor has more than one year/one semester of experience as a trainee.
Lead Instructor – is fully responsible for leading a course, has at least 10 students, has more than five years of experience as an instructor and an “A” evaluation from his/her supervisor. Lead instructors are nominated by CTM.
Supervisor – leads instructors, trainees and observers; typically also leads a course. Supervisors are nominated by CTM.
One person could have multiple roles in this structure – he/she could be an observer or trainee in one course and be an instructor in another course. Instructors are assigned students within two weeks from the closing of registration.
School Coordinator – is nominated by the school director and is responsible for promoting and supporting the CTM Online Program at the school.
